First Season
The first season of Glamours Edge (then-titled “Holliworld TV”) chronicles the trials and tribulations of photographer Chuck Holliday, as he repairs his once-tarnished image in the fashion and modeling industry. Much of the episodes found Chuck working with new clients, while attempting to maintain his close ties to Brooklyn, where he was born and raised. Towards the end of the season, Chuck jokingly tries his hand at video work at the advice of friend Shauna.
Running subplots include: Chuck’s protest of clients due to tardiness; Verse’s emergence as Executive Producer of the series; Chuck’s initial reluctance to try a hand at video directing.
Theme Music: “All Night Long” – Red Cafe
Second Season
The second season focuses on Chuck’s return to photography after a short-lived retirement. After returning, he begins a second run behind the lens as a ‘concierge’ photographer of sorts, providing service on the move to establish new working relationships. While most of his new clients are referrals via business and personal friends, Chuck attempts to blur the lines, with no regards to the referrals. After the passing of Big Homie Q in July 2008, Chuck returns from a sabbatical with a new look (Episode 6 – Hollywood NV) and new outlook on enjoying life, where he begins his venture into video directing.
Running subplots include: the sensationalism of beauty care in modeling; Chuck’s new look and sarcastic humor.
Theme Music: “So Good” – Supasonics
Third Season
The show’s third season begins with Chuck, now a full-time video producer, and Verse, who has propelled G-Style Magazine into prominence within the tech/mobile community, jointly producing content for Digital First Strategies and Versatile Media Group respectively. Much of the focus centers on G-Style Magazine, with Chuck also forming a business relationship with Brooklyn rapper Mula, providing photography and videography for his campaign with Zenedge premium energy drink, performances, and mixtape artwork. Chuck displays a humorous side not seen in previous episodes, and develops a passion for his new occupation, as seen in Episode 8 “New York Minute.”
Verse also begins his transition into being more in the public eye, which was met with resistance throughout the series. After conducting a photo shoot with Janine to strengthen his press kit for Versatile Media Group, Verse purchases an Apple notebook and transitions into post-production, mostly via G-Style’s product review video segments.
Most of the recurring cast from Seasons 1 and 2 do not appear in this season.
Running subplots include: Verse’s transition into being more in the public eye (appearing in 7 of the 9 episodes); Chuck and Wahidah building chemistry while working together for G-Style Magazine’s product review segments.
Theme Music: “So Good” – Supasonics (Episodes 1-5), “Spin it Again” – Amanda Wilson (Episode 6), “Overload” – Ora (Episodes 7-9)
Fourth Season
The show’s fourth season is scheduled to begin March 2010, and will focus on Chuck’s semi-retirement from photography, repairing his image, returning to visit friends in Washington DC (where he began his photography career), and video production assignments for The Skinni and The Round Table Show.
Theme Music: “Step One Two” – Kaskade
